I highly recommend Laura Boone and Fortune Management as a business coach for your practice.  My husband is a plastic surgeon in Northern California and our practice employs 12 women in a variety of clerical and provider positions.  When Laura first joined us in 2014, the culture in our office was at its lowest point.  The biggest issue was communication.  These communication problems were not just limited to the employees, but also to us, the employer.  For the first year of coaching, Laura focused on changing our culture.  She taught us tools that enabled us to communicate with each other in a much healthier manner.  These changes did not come easy, but the work and time that we invested was truly worth it.

Once we had the culture in the office moving in the right direction, we started working on our office processes.  With Fortune Management’s coaching, we implemented daily Team Huddles, established Team Agreements, set up yearly personal and business goal boards for each team member and started a team bonus structure.  All of these practices are still being used today with great success.

We also learned the value of discovering our “Why” which translated into spending a year crafting our mission statement.  We spent a lot of time learning about the DISC profiles, a personality evaluation tool.  This has helped us to better understand and serve our patients and better communicate with our fellow employees.

Our office has truly grown in the past 6 years under Laura’s and Fortune Management’s direction.  Dr. Mariotti has transformed in his leadership abilities with his staff as well.  This was very evident in his care for the staff during the COVID shelter-in-place.  Even with all these great changes and growth over the years, we will never feel like we have “arrived.”  Personal and professional growth are life-long processes and we’re grateful that we have resources like Laura and Fortune Management to guide us.
